Global Aid
Network,
founded by Josh McDowell, is a ministry to the Former Soviet Union
and other parts of the world. Twice a
year they send groups of 200 to 300 volunteers to Russia, Belarus,
Ukraine, and Siberia to distribute humanitarian aid and to share the Gospel.
Kemerovo is a city of 530,000 situated in the middle
of Siberia. It was founded in 1918, and much of the population is employed
in coal mining and an extensive prison system. The surrounding countryside
is beautiful and rolling with both forests and open land. Global Aid Network
has brought teams to this city for 5 summers to work with the
local churches. As bus coordinator Denis said so well, "The people of Kemerovo have waited for you all year—no, a lifetime—because of the Good
News you bring."

The Stowmans. How do we fit in? From June 24th to
July 7th, 2005, we joined a Global Aid Network team of 22 people that
visited Kemerovo. This was the third visit to this city for Mary and Elsa
and the fourth for Paul, Maren, and Hannah. It was like going home! We
invite you to explore this site to learn more about our latest Siberian
adventure and what God is doing through Global Aid Network half a world
away.
